The Bark Park.
Our time in Boca has been pretty fun so far. I joined a bootcamp to help me get back into the routine of exercise. I feel better already. It's high intensity but the coach is helping me keep my goals realistic and healthy. I try and go 3-4times a week.
We visited Gumbo Limbo to check out their sea turtle conservation efforts. It was the neatest place. We got to see several sea turtles that are being treated for injuries and hear about the local aquatic life.I would love to volunteer with them but I think Kent and I are going to participate in one of their activities first to see what volunteers actually do.
I still don't have any friends really. There are friendly faces that I see at bootcamp and some neighbors that we run into at this Irish pub we have been frequenting (all three of us! Very dog friendly!) but no real friends yet. That's ok for three weeks I think. Not ideal, but ok. Kent and I are slowly building our new life and its as jarring as it is exciting.
-till next time-

927 miles.
Nashville, Tennessee to Boca Raton, Florida
37215 to 33432
927 miles... from home.
I sit here in our temporary apartment watching my dog stare out the window. He loves to just watch the world. He watched as movers came into our home and packed everything up and loaded it on a truck. He watched as we took all that was left of our empty house and loaded it into my SUV. Now he watches new species of trees and small critters.
Our move from Nashville to Boca Raton wasn't that bad. Kent's sister Carmel opened her home to us while we waited for the closing of our house. We then packed up my Rogue and headed on a two day journey.
Our half way point was Savannah Georgia and I must say that I was blown away on how beautiful that city is! It was incredibly dog friendly and full of old world culture and feels. The trees all had thick hanging moss draped from their branches and the cobblestone streets were lined with vintage lamp posts speaking of a different era.

We stayed in a bed and breakfast called Foley House Inn that allowed dogs. As we were getting ready to go out for dinner our first night, we kept noticing buses of people stopping in front of our hotel. I looked closer at one of the buses and saw it said "Ghost Tour" on it. Great
After some research I discovered that our lovely quaint B&B was home to a murder and a cover up... which is obviously the makings for a restless resident ghost.
Apparently the widow Foley would take in boarders to make ends meet. She would only do so after checking the guests references. One evening a gentleman came in and was able to smooth talk Mrs Foley into renting him a room even though he had no reference check. Late that evening the man made a visit to Mrs. Foley's room with the intent of doing her harm. Turns out he underestimated her because she quickly grabbed a heavy silver candlestick and bashed him over the head with it, killing him. Not wanting any bad press about her inn she buried his remains within the walls of her boardinghouse. On her death bed she confessed the murder but no one believed her. That was until years later when renovations were being done to the house and human remains were found within the walls. Visitors to the Foley House say that they see a figure in black wearing a top hat sometimes in the gardens.
We didn't see or experience anything strange at the end of the day but we definitely had a great time!

Prepping
Our last week in Nashville is under way. As part of Kent's relocation package, we have a company coming to pack us tomorrow. Then at the end of the week the moving company will come and load up everything we own to be driven down to South Florida and put into storage.
I have to say that I am thrilled that we don't have to worry about packing all of our shit. The part that sucks is that we do not have a home in Boca yet. We could be in temporary housing for as long as three months sleeping on someone else's bed. Its not a huge deal, but in a life change such as this where everything will be up in the air, it would be nice to have the comfort from your previous life. Your home. I am charged with separating everything we will need for those three months. A small oasis in this new life.
And here is where get the urge to delete the last three sentences. #FirstWorldProblems. There is something special about writing your feelings knowing others will read them. It's called perspective.
The comfort of my previous life that I will have with me on this new adventure is my husband. My husband, whom I have so much fun with. My husband, who has grown to be my best friend. Together we will build a new life in Florida and it will be ok.
Finn is coming too, and who can't find comfort in this face?
I had a wonderful visit from my bestie/sister Drea and her daughter Zoey yesterday. Sweet Zoey. I'm gonna miss not being close to watch her grow up.

Ten
Kent and I gave out tulips as our wedding favors. I was worried we would have to move before they bloomed, but lucky for me the timing was perfect. Here are a few of the photos of our "love tulips".

Catch Up
On September 30th 2012 I married my soul mate, Kent. We had a beautiful outdoor wedding at Historic Cedarwood in Nashville Tennessee. It was everything I wanted it to be.
My good friend Hannah was our photographer and captured so many amazing photos much like the one you see here.
After we were married we went to Kauai for our Honeymoon. What an amazing island! Everything was so beautiful and was a great ending to our wedding.
After we got home and began to settle into married life, Kent was told that due to a reorganization at his current company, he would no longer be employed after the first of the year.
Nashville had become home to both of us. Kent had lived here for almost 15 years and I was going on 6 years. Nashville is where I shed my old skin and had the love and the care to find my new self. Nashville is where Kent and I met and fell in love. Nashville is a part of our story. But now its time to start a new chapter.
Kent got an amazing offer to become the Global VP of Marketing for a sports nutrition company called BSN. BSN is located in Boca Raton Florida which is a place neither one of us ever expected to move to. Beaches, palm trees, and private pools all seemed like elements of a vacation. When we went to visit the area it was clear that although a different path for us, it held a lot of promise. I really believe that Kent can excel and make a difference in his new role. My new role, as wife, has become clearer. I support him and love him in this without thought. It is my duty and gift to him to be flexible and I will do all I can to bring US through this transition with as little discomfort as possible.
Now the countdown begins. 13 days left in Nashville.
